Photographer’s Note
Stone monks in a shrine in Kamakura. Some of them are even wearing woollen caps. So far as I can understand, family members offer these stone statues to the god in memory of their ancestors. And offering things (like woollen caps that you see here) to these monks is equivalent to offering to their ancestors.
