Photographer’s Note
I've posted another photo of a similar method employed in Japanese architecture to allow water to silently run off the roof. That one was a chain. These "mini pots" for lack of a better name are another common type. If anyone knows what these things are called please let me know. Whatever the name, I love the look. It's beautiful in its simplicity. An elegant solution - much nicer than a drain pipe.

very attractive drainpipes indeed! Is there a reason you chose to go with a landscape orientation though? I think I'd have positioned myself to directly face the fence (or was this not possible?) so the horizontals run parallel, and used a portrait composition with the pot-chain slightly off-centre. But of course that's just me, and that's the way I take pictures!
Anyway, it's a nice little detail, well spotted. Focus is good, but you've got a little bit of burnout on the highlights.
