walking trough the streets of Kamakura near Yokohama I spotted this red lampoon outside one of the many temples in this small town.
Kamakura is best known for its big Buddha statue but sports many beautiful temples to explore.

Love that tree, one of the most magical things I notice about images from japan is the beautiful exotic trees, this one is a cracker. The red lampoon looks great against the lush green trees.

A lovely colour contrast with the lantern hanging nicely and seemingly peeking out from behind the brach. Good use of the vertical composition and you have indeed captured a slice of Japan perfectly

Hello Daniel,
I couldn't resist clicking to find out more about this image as it has an intriguing title. I wondered what had been lampooned. I realise now that you probably meant lantern. Lampoon means to satirize.(Hope you don't mind my ofgfering you this English lesson).
Nonetheless this is a strong image with the green and the red shouting to be seen. You have used the rule of thirds too for your composition.

Pleasing composition and expert use of complementary colours: red and green.
This particular tree also caught my attention 3 years ago and I took a photo but it is not as good as yours.
