This is Inbanuma in Chiba Prefecture at the place about 30 km away from Tokyo. This is a lake of reservoirs along the Tone River. Agedly, in order to prevent the damage caused by flood damage, canal construction to pour the water of a swamp to Tokyo Bay was performed at the Edo period. Besides, the land reclamation project for supplying food to the town of Edo (Tokyo) where population was increasing rapidly was also undertaken. However, development of Inbanuma interrupted and suffered a setback by the great fiscal burden of each feudal domains (Han). Entering after Meiji period, development aiming river improvement and land reclamation of the original changes into the development aiming at irrigation adapted to Keiyo industrial area and the increase in population. The Inbanuma valley consists of a plateau, lowlands with bottom-of-a-valley, a slope, and a cliff. The plateau is covered in the soil layer called the outstanding Kanto loam of a water holding property and water permeability. The rain which fell on the plateau or the slope flows as surface-of-the-earth water, or permeates underground serves and flows into Inbanuma as springwater. On the other hand, Inbanuma is abundant also in fishing resources. Fishings, such as Stake nets (a carp, a crucian carp, small fish, etc.), Boat seine (a shrimp, a pond smelt, small fish, etc.) are performed even now. Moreover, as for the figure of fishing is seen the circumference of a swamp.

Exquisite clarity over the lake, Mikio, show well the nets and rods.
One lone fisherman crossing the water, on its way to take care on the nets, gave good scale on.
Fine WS and this pic., excelent showing the subject.

I like this well composed fishing place. The waters must be rich on fishes. The fishing nets are well distributed through the frame. It is also nice to see one fisher man on the water, he adds nice life to the scene. Well done my friend.
