This photograph is taken Kushiro-shitsugen(Kushiro Marshland) in summer of three years ago. I got down at Kushiro-Shitsugen Station of unstaffed train station in Senmō Main Line, and arrived at the observatory which walk along the intently winding mountain path about 30 minutes and in which the whole aspect of a marshland looks well. Under its view, the deep marshland wrapped green spread out with extensive width. And, it is flowing so that the Kushiro river may wind a marshland. In the distance, the mountains of the Akan mountain range can be seen. Kushiro-shitsugen is the greatest marshland in Japan of area 18,290ha located in the Hokkaido Kushiro plain. Although most marshlands are the Common Reed-Carex marshlands, there is also a part of sphagnum marsh, Drosera rotundifolia and Utricularia intermedia of an insectivorous plant grow. Moreover, it is the breeding ground and rest place of many birds, such as a Japanese crane, Gray's grasshopper-warbler, Long-tailed Rosefinch etc. And, there are also many rare fishes, such as Hucho perryi which is the greatest freshwater fish in Japan, and Japanese huchen, Siberian salamander. So, this place is the precious natural domains which remain. Historically, the nature conservation of Kushiro-shitsugen starts for 2,700ha to have been specified as the natural treasure of the country as a "Kushiro Japanese crane breeding ground" on 1935. Then, it is specified as the country appointed Kushiro-shitsugen wildlife sanctuary (rare wildlife habitat) on 1958 (inside area 11,523ha, special protection area 6,962ha). This marshland became on the Ramsar Convention registration background in 1980. And, about 26,861 ha which will include the circumference of a marshland in 1987 are specified as the national park. Their eyes are turned to preservation rather than development of a marshland now. In the marshland, the nature restoration project by the "Kushiro-shitsugen spontaneous regeneration project" is undertaken by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Tourism(MLIT) and the Ministry of Environment, etc. Ordinary tourists watch from two or more observatories on heights, or they can observe a marshland according to river going down by a canoe etc. After I stayed an observatory and took a walk around the circumference for about 2 hours, I came down the mountain path to which origin came, rode about 20 minutes on the train and returned in Kushiro city.

This is where you are in quiet contemplation and I know your heart will always be there. In the far misty distance when zooming in you can see wide open green field and streams and there isn't anybody around and it is quiet and peaceful of a special place to relax & take in the scenery. Tranquility at it best so well taken, Congrats

Greenery always soothes the soul. You shot from a wonderful vantage point. The water cutting through the green vegetation adds some serenity. This is a classic!
