One of the activities to do at Iwakuni, the location of the famous Kintai-kyō (Kintai Bridge) is to take a boat ride on the Nishiki-gawa (Nishiki River). We didn't do that, but I tried to find an angle on one of the typical boats, with a triangle of sakura (cherry blossoms) in the foreground.

Hi Norbert, beautiful blossom composition, with a great POV over the tree and the lake, excellent timing, quality and good tones too.
thanks, ciao

hello Norbert

The diagonal composition of the sakura has given a strong emphasis to the color tone to softly contrast with the water and roof shed of the boat. The DOF works quite well, and I wonder where is your focus spot, on the flower at diagonal line? Somehow the depth is great and sharpness is a strong point in this shot. The balanced brightness is giving the overall view a pleasant mood.

tfs, bill

Hallo Norbert,
sehr schöner Bildaufbau mit klaren Farben. Schön langsam beginne ich Japan mit anderen Augen zu sehen.
LG Christian

Norbert,
the compositional aspect of this shot is a very good one and I defintively like the diagonal element. What suprises me somewhat are the blurred blossoms in the foreground. at first I thought that you might have used the higher end of the focal distance. What surprise to see that you got 56mm with f/7.1 and 1/200. Couldn't you tighten your aperture to achieve a better DOF? Just a thought.

Hello Norbert

What a wonderful composition.
The way you've framed with the cherry blossom which cross your picture in a dynamic diagonal is a great idea.
Colors are great, and this soft pink gives a strong feeling of serenity.
Perfect timing to have the boat ideally placed in your image.
I really like this composition. Very well done.

Regards,
Karine

Very clever title! I think this better and prettier than the Bermuda one. I just like the way you composed it within your frame. The opposing triangles give it the tension.

I still have to calibrate my new monitor. Mind telling me if your photo is more on the bright side with very white almost white washed flowers?

Hello Norbert,
Très jolie photo pleine de fraîcheur avec ces fleurs superbes à l'avant plan.
Une scène reposante et un tout bon cadrage.
Best regards
Denise

Hi Norbert,
Nice one, the cherry tree flowers divide the image in a very springesque manner, and the boat is just well placed to fill the empty part.
Have a nice day jY

Hi Norbert,

Hi Norbert, & greetings from Jeju Island, off the south coast of Korea.

Good use of the diagonal line of the sakura cherry blossum, to bisect the image in 2. The lone boat, angled in the opposite direction, is a superb addition. Excellent color & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi, Norbert. An image made up of two triangles that contrast well with each other. The boat also sails into the image in a diagonal line perpendicular to the diagonal line of the triangle. The colours contrast well with each other and the cherry blossoms create a very agreeable spring feeling.

Hello Norbert,

I like the diagonal line about the completely picture.
A pity that the cherry blossom in foreground not are real sharp, only the blossoms against the diagonal line are sharp and clear.
The typical boat care for a nice eye catcher on this picture.
Very well doen, thanks for sharing.

Best regards, I wish you and your wife a nice Pentecost weekend,
John.

Hi Norbert.

This composition is really good and this strong graphism looks amazing.
You have done it very well.

Regards.

Excellent diagonal frame division, with the direction of the boat marking the other diagonal... Really well captured and framed!

Cheers
A

Hope you are well, Norbert.

Your sakura series is so inspiring... everything is perfect and the boat coming making another diagonal makes the image very vey well balanced.
tfs.

Bonsoir Norbert
J'ai composé avec un triangle de rochers en Bretagne et tu composes avec un triangle de magnifiques fleurs; une très belle composition avec le bateau bien cadré.
J'apprécie beaucoup.
Amitiés.
