I had posted a picture earlier of this castle. Thought I would try something new today with it.

Hi Auntie,
Lovely view of the castle!!!I observe a few grains here but they do not cause a lot of distraction given the lovely mystique lights .
Regards and take care,
Sagarneel.

Hi Karen,
What I like about the shot is the warmish B/W tone that it has. It is not exactly pure B/W. It goes very well with the overall mood of the shot.
Well done,
Shaeri

Hi Karen,
unusual castle, nice japanese architecture, good composition with reflections. Pity that sky wasn't friendly.

Bonjours Karen
Belle photo que ce chateau avec ces toit si particulier de ces pays lointains que tu a visité. Beau reflet dans cette eau sombre et bon emploie du NB +- qui attire l' attention.

Hi Karen,
Good effort and well rewarded. Very good sepia effect which really compliments the old scene ... just wonderful. The slight noise certainly helps age the photo. Excellent work! tfs

Hello Karen,
A nice symmetrical composition that benefits from the black and white treatment. The tones and clarity are good, though I have to agree that there is some evidence of grain or noise, particularly in the water.

Hello Karen!
I like your subject, b&w treatment and toning. But some things on the right bottom are disturbing and there is quite a heavy noise (over-compression? resizing?). TFS.

Hi Karen,
A dreamy view. The B&W and grain gives it an antique mood that combines very nicely with the architecture, giving it the look of an old postcard.
Regards, José.

Hi Karen
Interesting shot at the castle. I like symmetry and the old-fashioned mood. A bit pity of the white sky ;).

hi karen
thats a better black and white shot..i thought it was the imperial palace in tokyo..it similar..i have one posted on TE
there are the usual over sharpened gremlins here..i got them on my prints when i scanned them and some grain
if you do get to grips with pp you will find its relatively easy to correct these...i am taking an honours degree in rocket science to try to do the contrast thingmajig on photoshop 2..haha
i cant remember why they do the roofs like that..its not for snow..i think its something to do with spirits
cheers

Dear Karen,
I like this old feeling.
this old atmosphere of photo fits well the image of old castle, like one scene of old B&W movie, perhaps it may be a historical play with a sword fight...
old feeling is precious.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Karen,
Lovely Far Eastern castle that does well in the B&W medium. Lovely the sharp details and striking reflection in the calm lake. This one has a calming mysterious feel to it.
Regards, Tom

This one is almost perfect ;-)
The only thing that I think would have been great is if the water in this shot had been super still...like a bottle, but nonetheless...breath taking...b&w....wouldn't be the same pic in colour..=-) Good job again..

These strange Japan castles actually looks like palaces, not castles at all. Very interesting structures.
Great photo! Black/white looks good here.
