Yep, i would sure like to live there as well!

As for technical qualities i think this photo would have looked a whole lot better if you'd captured it withiout so many branches in it. I find too many are distracting. Also I'd crop off a little off the bottom as well.

Thanks

Karen,

Another nice shot, the composition is very nice, but the sky sort of steals the top edge details. I shoot a fll f-stop or 3EV underexposed to prevent the bright overtaking the frame, and I wdjust saturation and sharpness before I post because so much seems to be lost in the small posting size. That said if you would increase the size of your posts up nearer the 200kb limit they would show better.

Anyway, nice shot.

Greg

Hi Karen,

Don't we all have a dream home, and I'm sure this would be at the top of a lot of people's lists! :o)

I like how the tree branches somewhat frame this shot. I tend to do that myself when I take pictures. I think it gives is a lot of character! And great point of view, well done!

TFS,
Liz

Im amazed how you were able to capture the image thru your camera. I am very much at awe.

Wonderful architecture. I would have cropped the bottom to eliminate the posts also the branches on the right should either be out or we should see more of them like the ones on the left.
Nicely done
Phil

Your dream home, really Karen? It looks very difficult to maintain! To much dusting for my taste. It is an interesting record of a piece of Japanese architecture (though it's a pity that there is no note. I should liked to have known more about it.) I like the muted, almost monochromatic coloring. The building is nicely placed, rising to the left and with the hedges as a lead in for the eye. The bare branches fill the top left nicely, with a wintery feel. I agree with the above comment about cropping. Nearly square is not the most attractive format and a little less foreground would have simplified and added strength. The soft cool grey tint of the sky is just right for the colors of the building. So, who is the lady to the extreme right? and what is the monument in the foreground? If you had your photoshop installed, you could have picked that out a little. not that it really needs it. The picture is fine as it is. Just because you don't have your photoshop yet, I have re cropped it to a more normal 800X600 and altered the contrast on the monument a little. It just shows what games you will be able to play once your photoshop is up and running. regards kevin

Hi Karen,
Wonderful details to this beautiful intricate traditional archticture. Nice soft colors it is a shame you didn't have a blue sky.
Regards, Tom

Philip

It's a real shame the light/weather wasn't on your side as a blue sky with white clouds would have made this a real winner. Good nonetheless. I lived in Japan for 6 years but never visited here.

PHIL

Hi Karen. Yes these Japanese places have a lot of character don't they. It looks like Magoya castle only smaller. Good image well presented. TFS. Murray.
