Hi again.
Today another Japan shot. Pictured is the 700 series Shinkansen, one of the Ambitious Japan trains (just google that, some interesting sites).
The sound of these going past is awesome, even they they slow down a little to go past the stations. I actually took this shot trying to take a little video of the train going past with the camera on the wrong setting.
This shot was taken at Okayama station. We weren't actually meant to stop here. A brief explanation- my mother is doing a geneological history thing of her family (Hirano) and had all of this very important research (birth certificates, list of cemetaries, all irreplaceable). My grandma was looking at it on the train... and left it there when we got off. We only realised this when we got on another train and was half way to Tokyo.
We had to get off here, wait for another train, go back to the Shinkansen drivers headquarters where they take the lost property.
I've just realised that this story (I assure you, it's actually quite interesting) is quite uninteresting in shortened form.
I'll leave it at that.

Then long train creates a nice perspection in the image, with its white line going back from the front to the back of the train.
I especially like the contrast between the modern aspect of the train and the station around, with its typical old style aspect.
Well done.
decent shot but could have been an even better if you focused anywhere but on the train then you would have captured a time lapse type or shot or would have recorded the train in motion. but never the less smilies for effort.
Hi Adam,
Nice photo with an interesting subject matter. However I think you could have made this a lot more interesting either with a longer exposure time or by panning as the train was moving past. Interesting photo nonetheless. Thanks for sharing,
Jules
