[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture was taken at dawn on a train leaving Japan main island entering Shikoku Island. The sun was about to rise. The train was about to cross the Seto Ohashi Bridge between the main island and Shikoku Island when I took this picture.

I am not sure what plant it is with the large chimney. However, I believe that it is carbon dioxide steam coming out from the chimney. A zoomed in view of the chimney area is shown in WS.

Hi Wes,
I hope you don't mind, but I did a WS with this picture. Not to improve your version (that one is perfect) but I’m always astonished to see how much more unseen details are present in the digital information.
Groet Rob

Hi WES,
The title fits well with your so well taken picture and composition. It's nicely taken in a difficult time approach and with weather not easy aproaching and of day. ROB as made a interesting WS with a nice unseen details of light that is only a improvement and also interesting way of view. I like your great work and moment and this aditional work is also a great complementary view for me in a experience way.

Conclusion: I like you work also the WS from ROB and thanks very much for your eye quality catch that is perfect and the other PP aditional view.

EXCELENT work and great composition.

Best Regards and Congratulations.
Fernando

Hello Wes, complicated shot if we take on count that was inside the train. the chimney really stands out in the composition. Very nice dark colors and dof. thanks for share this part of your japan experience. Cheers, gabriel

Hi Mr. Wes. I'm surprised you were able to take this shot with so little light out at 1/100th shutter speed. I guess being at f/5 helps. We don't see many shots on TE shot at this hour. This is very unique. Good one Wes!

Well Wes this is an interesting scene. I see you were up very early in this photo. A nicely balanced frame in applying the rule of thirds. Good presentation. I would suggest a little sharpnening to this photo. But as you know that is just my opinion and way of processing.

Good sunrise shot Wes; the clouds with the intermingled steam are dramatic. I think I marginally prefer the closeup in the WS. Both shots are good.

the smokes are very horrible, I hope they find solution to make these polutions stop.
very nice capture, Wes, slightly too dark maybe. I think the one closer, zoom one in WS, is better :)

I like the composition and point of view.Good contrast between the sky and the black silhouettes.Good colors and light.Good job!

Hej Wes,
A very nice view over this industrial area. I like the first warm colours of the day in the background. Well captured!

Lars

Wes
Good atmosphere and light caught here in this shot. The bright light in the sky works well with the rest of the composition. The smoke from the chimney is a good added extra. Well seen.
Aubrey

Hi Wes,
This is a huge contrast between the chimney and the soft color tones of the early morning sky.I like how you left the foreground in darkness, the graphism is superb.
Have a nice weekend,
Hermann

Hi Wes,
As the critques above note, you managed amazing clearness from a train. Good eye and excellent reaction time to both recognize and shoot this composition. I think you made the right choice in your main selection, but I do like the way you include extra detail in the workshop. I like the workshop's effect on showing more of the water, but prefer your sky. Perhaps a selective lightening? :) Pat

Looks like the end of the world. A very dark and sad composition.
I just wish it has been a little more sharp, but I suppose it was hard from a train.

Hi Wes, This picture show Japan is an industrialised nation. Very nice silhoulette shot against the sunset on the background. Regards,

Very 'industrial' setting in this one. Nice work with the contrast between industry and landscape. Maybe adding some little light in the lower part had been ok too
