Wagon wheels make for great decorations no matter what country it is. This was taken at a tourist oriented village east of Kanazawa, I'm sorry I don't know the exact name of the place but as usual we only had about a half hour to get off the bus and enjoy Japanese culture.
As the only serious photographer in the group to Japan I was clearly at a disadvantage and was always the last guy to board the bus. They left without me when we visited the Golden Palace in Kyoto but I actually didn't mind. I took a cab back to the hotel and spent the afternoon going to places I wanted to see and photograph so it was worth getting lost.

This isn't quite what I think of when I think of Japan. More likely I would expect to see Clint Eastwood and this was a movie set. The shapes, texture and uniqueness make this great!
Thanks for sharing.

Nice sharp still life with good colours and excellent detail. Well observed.

I like the photo, the detail in the wood work and for some reason I think bouth kanji and kana is very decorative wighting..
I recognise myself in your note, when I go on guided tours any where and have a camera people ask me to send the photos because I get lost and shoot images of places they did not even see... I allso usually go wandering of, just about everywhere I visit... I find I discover more of the area that way...
