Photographer’s Note
Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 meters. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
This photo was taken from Mount Kita, which is the second tallest mountain in Japan. Level, curves and contrast were adjusted and layer masks were used to superpose several layers with different brightness.

Hello Wen,
Welcome to TrekEarth.
Your POV is excellent evoking a sense of space and distance. Silhouettes of the mountain ranges with Mount Fugi in the clouds in the background make a nice composition.
Warm wishes,
Betty

Wen: I like the layers, nicely scalloped, that you've presented here - a great experiment in grayscale. best, c

What a great shot Wen,
I like it a lot. B+W brought the darkness and mysterious atmosphere. It would look nice tooif taken with a regular 35mm film let's say Ilford 400 or even 1600. The grain could build up even more dramatic view.
Great one,
Best regards,
Michal

Allow me to be a little silly here in greeting this photo and enjoying it. I know, it is only the Mount Fuji, in black and white. Nothing special, I guess. Yet... It reminds me a time when I was truly fascinated by the Japanese ukiyo-e of Hokusai, its 36, and than, its 100 views of Mount Fuji especially, this one for example. It was fascinating to see that in only a few drawing lines, there was such a great power of evocation and beauty...
Maybe the Mount is a little too centered for my taste, but I kind of like the white floating and light clouds in there...

Amazing is how well you can show the depth of the field just by manipulating different shades of grey...
My motto: The greys are the most colorful colors in photography - herein shows its magic power.
simply beautiful.
