Photographer’s Note
Red & white lanterns in a Fuji Yoshida side street, near my hostel. I liked the repetition here, & the colour, which reminded me of bullseye candies. The cyclist was an added bonus.

Hi Chris, interesting to see the traditional along with the modern here, the car free block paved road also an interesting feature of the place, looks like good urban planning.

Hi Chris,
what are bullseye candies - some sweeties?
Even taken from the other side of earth it looks familiar like some shopping mall here in the morning or at other less crowded times. These lanterns are unused here.
The POV is great also the sharpness following the street.

Hi Chris,
Lanterns are probably one of the most striking elements that attract foreigners in Japan (me too...) they are everywhere and offer so many perspective opportunities as here, well framed vertically and shot at the decisive instant when the cyclist was passing by, nice one.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Chris
Nice deep perspective with good compo of not only lanterns but also the textures of the street and the lovely sky. Good documentary of Japanese streets and I like the inclusion of the biker. Gd work.

Great slice of life shot, with some people but not so many as to overwhelm the shot. I like the way you used the laterns, repeating as they go down the street, to have a visual motif that helps to hold the picture together and add a sense of stucture to a shot that could otherwise become cluttered. Well done!

Hi Chris,
I like the perspective with the deep view into the street. The colours are bright and beautiful. Indeed, I like the repetition of the laterns and the single cyclist riding by. I wonder about the emptyness on the street.

Great perspective shot with all the repeating pavings as well as the lanterns. Did you try a night shot; I bet it would look great all lit up.

Excellent Chris, your contrast/colors are really on top and very well balanced, it benefits your shots a lot.
Your street view is good framed with the bycicler, a bit fuzzy street, maybe a bit less attractive on the artistic level but then again, TE is still showing the world, that you didn't forget.
Well done

Guten Morgen Chris,
quite an ordinary street, nothing special - but the red stripes and the lanterns leading the view to the background add some tension.

Hi Chris,
an intruguing shot. I like ver much the geometry of the lines here: cables, lines on the road and the way this geometry overhwelms even the rider who is so small. One thing that I really like is he emptyness of this scene. Id suggest a crop of the left where the cars are..they sort of just ranmdomly pop into the frame and I think cropping them out would be beneficial in keeping the tidyness of the photo.

Hola Chris.
Nice view of this street at Fuji Yoshida, your POV is very good and I'm surprised that the street is empty, only the cyclist. Great colors and sharpness.
Well done.
