Fuji San & Pagoda Photo

Photographer’s Note

A shot of Mt Fuji (Fuji Yama) at dusk, overlooking the town of Fuji Yoshida in the Fuji Highlands on the northern slopes of this iconic volcano . It last erupted in the 18th century. If you look carefully you can see a trail of lights from hikers making their way to the summit with tents, for a sunrise view. There is no snow as it was mid summer. I'll look up the name of the pagoda & edit later. I thought this was worth posting, as there are no other images on TE of this locale (apart from the torii I also uploaded), & a night shot of Fuji is very rare.

Okay, found it! The name of this pagoda is "Chureito".

Wow! I like this shot a lot, and for something that was not really visible in the thumbnail version. The shape of the mountain is barely dicernable, but it makes a kind of ghostly presence in the frame, but is makes the mountain more mystical. Superb!

Great depth and mist. Interesting way to photograph the famous mount and I like the lighting you've here. Perhaps need some sharpness improvements but overall a good pic. I like it, tfs!

Interesting compo with the offcentered placement of the pagode in the artificial light. Very good soft setting of the big Fuji mountain in the back.
