Photographer’s Note

Naeba's a well known ski area situated in the Niigata prefecture. At the bottom of the slope is the Prince Hotel complex and the small town of Asakai is in the background. Apart from skiing, the hot springs here are very nice too :)

Cheuk Hin-san kon nichi wa !
It's good for a change to see a bit of japanese mountains, even though they'll go largely unnoticed given the flood of alpine and rockies pics. I can see the slopes are borad and I hope you had good conditions, the buildings even from the distance look big and far away from the alpine chalet cliche, but no doubt the hot spings will compensate, given the dark year end light conditions a rather clear picture helped by the snow highlights.

Hello Cheuk,
This is an excellent shot of this amazing looking ski area. This image is not what I had in mind when I think of Japan. I knew that Japan has skiing, but this looks more like the European Alps. Your composition, sharpness and POV is outstanding and your subject matter is very interesting to view, Superb!

Strong perspective created by all the skiers making many colourful dots on the snow. Background mountains look special too. Tree cover shows all the triangular landforms very clearly.

Hi Cheuk
It's really interesting to ski resorts in other countries because even though there are mountains and snow, it looks so different. I like the contrast between the snow clad slope with the colourful skiers in the foreground and the tree-covered mountains opposite.
