Photographer’s Note

June 15th: after 10 hours of flight, we can see the japanese coasts, we still are at more tahn 10'000 meters of altitude. I have a look on a map, it seems that we are on hte north of the caty Niigata (to be confirmed). The first view of htis country, form the sky, do not change from hte other part of the world that I have flyed over. Waiting to be on ground to search the diferences.

On dirait que vous êtes en parachute... La vue du japon est pas mal et j'aime bien l'ombre du nuage dans la mer. bien vu et marant de savoir que vous êtes arrivé au Japon le jour de mes 30 ans...

L'avion devait virer de bord pour pouvoir prendre cette vue, à moins que vous étiez en parachute.

Belle vue aérienne que tu nous présentes là. Comment peut-on réussir une telle prise de vue à plus de 10 000m car je ne pense pas le pilote se soit amusé à faire du looping ? ;-)

C'est vrai l'angle est un peu etrange mais la vue est tres bonne entre mer et terre , bien vu . a suivre donc la suite du theme .

A very nice shot from that altitude, Jacques. I'm surprised that it's not more haze in the air, as this is a highly industrialized country. Do you remember Peter W. (Hikoke)? Many of his shots from the air above Japan were very hazy and needed a lot of post processing. So you must have been very lucky on your arrival in Japan to get such a clear shot from 10'000 meters! I like that you've placed the coastline vertical and that you've avoided reflections in, or including a part of, the window. And - as you state - it's hard to see that this is Japan. Very well done!

Tu avais pris place dans le cockpit pour faire une image pareille ? La vue aérienne est très bonne, on distingue une foule de détails.

J'aime bien votre note humoristique alors j'attend des photos du sol pour decouvrir les differences....
Dans tout les cas tres belle prise au travers d'une vitre c'est pas chose facile.
Bravo Jacques beaucoup de détails sur cette carte..

So now we're gradually approaching Japan ... Very crisp details for a shot taken from that altitude, with the residential areas and fields making fine colorful patterns on the ground. The fluffy clouds have a very good texture. I agree that this does not look much different than an aerial view in Europe or North America. Looking forward to your "ground level" shots. Great view - I always liked to watch the landscapes from planes - to compare the different shapes and colours - fine to watch this harbour and the clouds adds extra to the image - thanks Jacques.
