Photographer’s Note

Camera shy??? No, they are performing a traditional dance of their region. This is the Odori Festival taken place in Niigata city last September. There were about 200 groups of dancers from nationwide displaying in 3 days. I took this photo with my old camera Canon S2 IS.

This photo made me smile. :-) I love the moment you have captured, with all of the women in the same position. The colors of their dresses and fans are wonderful, and I also like seeing some of the shop signs in the background. Very nice composition.
