Feast your eyes on 1000 dolls!! lol
This display is at the World Folk Doll Museum in Suzaka City, Japan. This festival is held every March in Japan. It is called the Hina Matsuri. And yes, they claimed 1000 dolls were on display.
As described by Wikpedia:
The Japanese Doll Festival (雛祭り, Hina-matsuri?), or Girls' Day, is held on March 3, the third day of the third month. Platforms with a red hi-mōsen are used to display a set of ornamental dolls (雛人形 hina-ningyō) representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. |

Hi Damon.
I think the main reason why this doesn't work for me is that everything is too small and I really can't see what the dolls look like. I was interested in the thumbnail by the rich red colour, but once the photo was open, I was left asking "what is that?"
Perhaps a solution would be to open up the aperture on the camera, get in quite close and take a photo of a few of the dolls with the background filled in with the other, out of focus dolls. This would show me what the dolls look like up close and also illustrate the fact that there were lots of them.
