Photographer’s Note
The title refers to the name of the old highway (the Nakasendo) that ran from Kyoto to Edo back until the late 1800's. The town is Narai-juku, which, along with Tsumago and Magome, have been preserved by the Japanese government to keep the authentic feeling of the past...minus the paved roads and cars of course. I brought my sister here today and we strolled down the streets enjoying the architecture and the fine weather. I posted a couple of pics from a previous visit to the same town sometime last year.
