Photographer’s Note
Matsumoto castle is located in Matsumoto city, in an area of Honshu island called the Japanese alps.
The castle as it stands today was constructed in 1594.
It belonged to Ishikawa Norimasa. Ishikawa was appointed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who unified Japan in the late 1500's, ending a long period of war which became known as the Sengoku ("warring states") period.

Doron,
This is a beautiful image. I love the colors and your composition is very pleasing. I like the placement of the bridge, castle and even the swans.
Great work!

Startlingly clear photo. The red bridge acts a perfect counterpoint to the black castle. I considered a WS to crop out the modern antenna, but then I realized you'd lose the swans. Nice!
Hideyoshi's rule only temporarily ended the wars, by the way. After he died, the struggle to succeed him set off another spate of war, ended when the Tokugawas finally consolidated their rule around 1627. Their shogunate then lasted until the Meiji restoration in 1868.

Hi Doron,
Great shot! The contrasting color of the bridge adds a lot to the picture. Good composition too. It seems like you oversharpened your photo, as you can see thin white lines around the edges (trees, castle, ...). The cloud is a bit overexposed. Besides that, good work!
Greetings,
Thomas
