Matsumoto Castle is one of four castles designated as "National Treasures of Japan" and the oldest castle donjon remaining in Japan. Construction began in 1592 of the elegant black and white structure with its three turrets. Because of the elegant black walls, Matsumoto Castle is sometimes called "Crow Castle".
This image was scanned from the picture that I have made with the film camera during my trip to Japan in autumn of 1999.

Interesting view of Matsumoto Castle, the multiple terraced roof lines are spectacular and part of traditional medieval Japan. And the towers still look fine after all the centuries.

Another beautiful castle in your gallery, and what a difference to the last one I commented on. Each as beautiful as the other but an amazing testament to the aridity of styles and thoughts around the world. This photo captures the mystical brilliance of the building and the light has created some brilliant shadow effects. Really like that you includ the greenery in the upper right, it fits perfectly in this view.
