Photographer’s Note
Hana = flower in Japanese. The title seems much more appropriate to fireworks when you watch such beauty unfold over the night sky. And when the Japanese have a fireworks/fireflower display, they go all out. We sat in the semi-dried up river bed for almost 2 hours watching what we thought was one finale after another. It was relentless. They really outdid themselves. Each summer Gifu City holds the Hanabi Festival and the city becomes saturated with some 40,000 people.

Hi Brendon,
You have some great pictures in your gallery, some interesting insights into other cultures. This is great, something I've always wanted to capture but never had the opportunity. If I ever achieve something of this quality I'll be happy. A great shot, from a purely artistic point of view I might have cloned out the lights at the bottom. Nice work.
Regards,
Adrian
