Photographer’s Note
This past October I was given the opportunity to join a parade here in Japan that commemorated Mori Ranmaru and the Battle of Sekigahara. As part of the festival I was able to dress up in full Samurai ensemble and then lead the parade. As complete as my costume was, it was medicore in regards to some of the other characters and the detail that made them up. The point of of my picture has two sides. First is the beauty and elaborateness of the samurai and their gear, the other is the fear and intimidation that their opponents must have felt staring at this in the heat of battle.

It could be slightly better without the background clutter, but still an interesting subject and a very nice capture!

Hello Brendon,
Nice photo, I really like the elaborate detail in the Yoroi armor. I agree with you, these must be terrifying to behold in the midst of a battle. Very nice work. TFS.
