Photographer's Note

Wind nor sleet, nor rain...well just a lot of rain was what faced the many Japanese onlookers as they wandered through Sogi Spa and Park this evening. Fall, like spring and the sakura blossoms is highly anticipated by the Japanese. So it little surprise to see the hoards of wandering people clad with umbrellas in this serence little park.

Located in Toki, Gifu Prefecture (famous for pottery) this small little park winds through a small forest of maple trees (momiji). From what little I gathered, it was once the garden of a small hotel long removed. The trees are illuminated throughout the park by bright lights which reflect the coloured maples (koyo) perched by small ponds.
