Photographer’s Note
This was taken near Hida kanayama on the train, well it was the next stop of the JR line from Hida Kanayama, the reason why I took this picture was because Kanayama was the place I use to teach English and thats where my Golds Gym is too. But the stop we passed was Hida-Kanayama similar name, that particular day my friend and I went to a few onsens near the snow covered mountains in Hirayu near Shin Hotaka or Takayama.
Well now I think of it, I love the mist and the mountains, it reminds me of China, the high mountains with mysterious mist and houses on the top, apart from they arent on the mountains but down below, maybe it is safer considering the amount of earthquakes Japan encounter every year.
I hope you like the peaceful shot, well unless a train passes by hey?

This is a very simple place with a special view in depth to the valley stopped by the fog. Interesting place and quite mysterious for what would be in after the clouds stops, may be a "king kong" or a giant :-))

Hi Dan. There are too many onsens around that area, and I drove through the mountains to go to various onsens 2 years ago. In autumn it was foggy and really beuatiful.
A little bit earlier time, let's say 7 am would have brought more thick fog around the houses. But this shows quite rural area in Japan and I started missing it.

Hi Dan
Good sharpness, lighting & contrast. I like the 'v' shaped dip, in the middle. The clouds add mood & atmosphere. Well done!

Hi Dan. I had no idea they had Gold's Gyms around the rest of the world. That's weird. Anyhow I love the low slung clouds. Yes it look just like the limestone karst areas of China. tfs Dan!

Hi Dan, I can feel the mix of the rain and sunshine in the same picture. Nice show the highlight under the sun and the rain cloud in the deep of the mountain.A nice capture of the clear image.

Hi Dan,
nevermind the trains, the place looks great - I believe that inhabitants appreciate a fresh air coming down these slopes, through fantastic trees and forest.
I can almost feel the freshness!
Cheers,
Robi

Hi Dan,
Looks to be a very charming and peaceful place. The fog created a very nice atmosphere and added mistery to the composition. The colors are nice and the light is just superb.
Take care
