[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a section of the Borobudur monument on central Java. The picture was taken in 1976 when restoration in cooperation with the UNESCO had recently started. Borobudur, a Buddhist shrine from the 9th century, is now classified by the UNESCO as a world heritage. After Java converted to islam Borobudur was neglected for hundreds of years and was not "rediscovered" until the early 19th century.
Another view of the shrine can be seen in a workshop.
Both pictures were scanned from Kodachrome slides.

Hej Gert,
Interesting combiation of modern men and old statues. The perspective is very good with the lines leading up to the corner where some fine colours are dominating. Good contrast!

Gert, interesting shot, I love the hard hats and the sandels, and the railing around the edge, wonderful safety precautions... Color is good and the detail is awesome and it represents yout note very well.

Hi Gert, I wish so much to visit this place. Must be magical. It is obvious that you image is from the 70ies. Jeans, shirt and shoes of the second guy on the right are so cool and certainly from the 70ies.
