Photographer’s Note

The sun falling below the horizon with Bali in the background seen from Mangsit beach, Senggigi, Lombok, Indonesia.

The shot was taken without tripod as the A2 has this wonderful image stabilizer built in.

No major alterations, except for contrast and sharpening in PS CS.

Hi Jan, you have been away from TE the same time as I have, I see. Welcome back.
Your shot really has me puzzled. I can't make out any land or sea or horizon for that matter. I keep looking and it looks like a sunset photographed from a plane through a lot of clouds. Mind you, as an abstract representation of shapes and colours it is beautiful, so I gues the place is less important and it as you say "just the evening sky..."
Oh yes, and one last recommendation. I find titles and signatures and copyright elements inside the photo very disturbing. I have said this often here on TE, and I guess it is just a personal thing. But we are not like painters obliged to sign inside the frame, we can add a frame and sign inside that. What do you think?

Astonishing shot here with so beautiful warm colours and a large amount of clouds giving this very impressive picture. The stabilizer of the A2 works fine. Good job !

Hi Jan - long time no see. Good idea and great result from pointing your camera at the evening sky, and a lovely color setting to enhance these layers of clouds. Beautiful shot, well done.
