Dear Angshuman da,

Nice work. I like those pretty faces very much. The expressions are nice. My only point is that it would be better if you can include the feet of the lady in front. And, are there some grains coming in the faces of those girls in the shadowy regions? I am not sure.

You have a sizable stock of Bali pictures! These girls don't seem to mind yo taking their picture... The compo is pleasant here with the stairs and temple in BG a fine settings for this group portrait.

Olá Angshu, splendid portrait of this charming and exotic group. They seem nice and expecting that you finish the shot. Love their festives costumes and the simple and effective contrast that you got with the monochromatic (and graphic) background. Good approach and great framing. A successful one with people for your surprising series from Bali.

Hi Angshu, they really posed for you, but it stills nice with beautiful Balinese traditional costumes and tight black border make it more impressive. I always admire how their still wear the traditional costume on every moment in daily life, it makes this island special and very worthed for visit. Thanks alot and always for the note too.

Hello Mr. B,

I like the shot, and the excellent note. Given the opportunity, I believe, I would have avoided cutting off the women in the foreground. Their lack of affirmative response clearly meant an affirmative response, since they did effectively pose (set-up) for the photograph.

A diplomat friend of mine once told me a rule,"If a diplomat says 'Yes,' he means 'Maybe.' If he says maybe, he means 'No.' If he says 'No,' he is no diplomat." Then he continued, "If a woman say 'No,' she means 'Maybe.' If she says 'Maybe,' she means 'Yes.' But if she says 'Yes,' she is no lady!"

This is not relevant to the these young ladies' response to your request, but here they certainly appear to have accommodated your request on purpose.

Interesting group portrait, since they are all dressed in the same way (except for the golden belt, only worn by two of them). The positionning of the stairs is of course very usuefull for such a picture.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we were looking at old family photos, 70-100 years ago when a solemnity was considered the proper expression for a photo. The belles must have believed the same, because there is no hint of the giggles left. I like the interplay of light and shadows here and the excellent detail and color.

A good shot of these people. The image is nice and sharp and has good management of light. Just a little bit of a pity that the feet of the girl in the foreground have been chopped off.
