Photographer’s Note

I took this shot just outside of the main building of the 11th Century temple. I thought this was very peaceful with the water and the lilly pads on the right leading up to the 11 storey pagoda. The bamboo on the right I thought would have made a good foreground for the pic.

I think you made great choices here, especially with thne bamboo in the foreground and the leaves coming down from the top to help frame the shot. Good stuff.

A very good composition of this so nice place. I like the bamboo that stands fast to the old castle on the left side of the frame. A beautiful scene well rendered with this soft ambient light due to the relatively bad weather. Very well done !

Wonderful shot, Dan, one of the best compositions I've seen from you. Very good placement of the pagodas to the left and middle, and nice way to complement the frame with the bamboo emerging from the piece of land at the front right. The clouds hovering in the back give a fine atmosphere. Well done.

Very calm and pleasant landscape.
I like it.
I would only eliminate the ground, I mean to step a little bit and concentrate on the water and the elements within.

Great shot of Candi Kuning & Lake Bedugal. The framing with bamboo is a very good aspect. I may post mine next week. It has daisies in the foreground.

Un rayon de soleil donne un éclairage très particulier sur les nénuphars.
J'apprécie ce paysage avec le bambou en avant-plan.
A sunbeam gives a very particular lighting on the water lilies. I appreciate this landscape with the bamboo in foreground.

The bamboos really help the composition by creating a notion of distance and adding some warmer tones to the photo. Very nice landscape photo of a beautiful place. Maybe a little more brightness could be fine.

Very nicely composed image. The peacefulness is all over this photo. The pagoda is perfect on the right. The water leads calmly to the pagodas and then on to the more menacing sky. But even that is given a very peaceful feel by the foreground. The rain it might bring does not seem so bad. More like a nice, warm, rain that I don't mind being caught in. Very good job.

Hi Dan - the temple and the bamboo are perfectly positioned, excellent work. My boss approved my next leave yesterday, and this is one of the places I will be going to in september.
