Gunung Batur

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
My previous shot was showing the mountains around Batur.
When I arrived in Batur I didn't want to go the the temples immediately, but just soak up the atmosphere of the place. Walking some back alleys around the more famous temples of Batur, I found this point of view. It shows the top of a private temple with some of the mountains in the background. I felt that the structure contrasted nicely with the background and the blue sky.
NB: The mountain the the back of the shot is Mount Abang! It's not a volcano, but part of the crater rim.
A map of my second photo day on Bali can be found here.
This photograph is part of my travelogue Bali by Dennis.

Dag Dennis,
Het rode dak geeft wel een aangename kleur aan deze foto, willicht past het niet bij de mooie toren recht, maar dit is mijn mening.
De achtergrond en de hemel zijn zeker aangenaam voor het kijken, en goed van kwaliteit.
Groeten,
John.
Dennis,
This one has beautiful depth, great colors and balanced geometrics.
I like that, pleasant one.
Regards,
JB.
Now this is a good foreground with a good background. The different types of colorful temple tops in the foreground creates an interesting shot, especially with the differing colors, shapes and materials used in them. I like the contrast between the rock, sheet metal and straw, really showing the differences in temple style without showing the entire temple itself. A great looking background too, although maybe a bit flat, but it looks like it was the "hazy" air that produced this and not your photography skills. An all around good looking shot and a good addition to your Bali series. I'm wondering if it would be better if the stone top was sraightened in the foreground though, although this would skew the horizon line...
Great work.
John
