Welcome to Bibiland. Looking at photos from bibiweb" you are guaranteed a few minutes of pure mountain bliss. The first time I saw mount Bromo was through a picture made by Brigitte, so its only fitting that I pay her and her wonderful landscapes a little homeage.

Mount Bromo is loated in Eastern Java and provides beautiful scenery trough its volcanoes and quasi himalayan feel.

Beautiful shot. Absolutely clear, wonderful use of shadows and light, and the clouds and smoke cooperated.

I wonder if standing a little bit to the left would put that foreground tree against the sky and make it stand out a bit more. Though I had no trouble seeing it for what it is.

Quite a stunning environment. No one stands indifferent to volcanoes as they are such a force to be reckoned with. This is a very moody shot. I love how the clouds and smoke play with each other. Nice work.

Salut Daniel, c'est dingue ça !! Toi aussi tu y es allé ! La prmeière fois que j'ai découvert ce lieu, sur TE bien sur (et dieu sait qu'on en découvre des jolis endroits sur TE) c'était via une photo de joeysantos ou un truc comme ça ... j'en croyais pas mes yeux et pensais la photo fausse... j'ai mené qq recherches et trouvé le site sur googleearth, il faut que je vois ça un jour dans ma vie

Hola Daniel,

Hoy coincidimos en colgar volcanes en TE! Me gusta muchísimo esta composición, sobre todo porque el conjunto de montañas en el centro es realmente curioso y bello. Muy bien definidas las laderas, las luces y las sombres, muy buenos colores, y el humo saliendo del cráter imprsiona. Es una escena preciosa, y seguro que emocionante!

Ta photo n'a absolument rien à envier à la mienne. La lumière est magnifique et j'aime ton cadrage avec ces fleurs rouges au premier plan. C'est vrai que c'est une endroit vraiment merveilleux et ça me fait plaisir que tu aies pu en profiter!

Wow,,, this is so beautiful, so majestic. I've seen it many times here but it always has so much impact. I love the colors you got, the cloud is very spectacular, the shape on the volcanos "walls" so interesting. Excellent.

c'est une vue inoubliable, la lumière et les couleurs sont superbes, quant au POV, n'en parlons même pas ! grandiose :)
concernant le titre et la note... je comprends bien que tu as découvert l'endroit par une de ses photos, mais bon toi aussi tu t'es approprié l'endroit avec cette belle prise de vue, alors c'est aussi un peu daniel-land maintenant

Hello Daniel,
je me souviens la 1e fois que j'ai vu cet endroit sur TE...
ça a été quasi un choc pour moi :)
Il n'y a plus l'effet de surprise maintenant mais ça reste une vue à couper le souffle, un des plus beau endroits sur terre.
Des conditions idéales ce jour là !

I recognise this immediately from Bibi's posts, and your image is another top quality view of the place, wonderfully lit to show off the fascinating wrinkles and shape of Bromo. Nice foreground details of the berries and branches too, which add depth and texture.

Ton titre ca sonne unpeu comme "Daniel au Paradis", c'est le nirvana du trekker d'avoir enfin atteint ces hauteurs bibiesques et de pouvoir contempler un tel paysage, tres belle photo pleine de profondeur et de relief, et les petits nuages sur le ciel clair c'est un bon plus. Alors apres quelques temps d'utilisation tu le trouves comment le 400D ?

Reconozco ese paisaje gracias a Brigitte. Tambien tienes un punto de vista precioso. Parece un poco como en El Señor de los anillos con el vulcano y la falta de verdura alrededor.

Hi Daniel - the classic Java view I one day dream of photographing, the smoke adds a nice touch.

My trip will be delayed until 5 october because of extentions and complications in my escrow and things at work. I also have to move to my new condo mid-sept. It's been a very stressful month. Now the problem is when I arrive in IND, it will be the end of ramadan and beginning of the rainy season, according to travel forums and guidebooks, travel in IND at the end of ramadan is " to be avoided". Also I planned to go to Tibet & nepal after IND but now the %$$*ing chinese are making it difficult because of protesters. Maybe it's best to delay this trip until next summer and do a road trip in north america instead. What a shame.

I have already seen several shots of very identical POV as yours. The first time that I saw it at TE and was in complete amazement that such place even exists and about the clouds and/or smoke formations. Several posts later I have to realize that it really exists and your shot as well as all the others are making me quite convinced that I have to go there at least once in my lifetime!
