Photographer’s Note
Some hours after my post yesterday, I thought "My God, I'm boring these people to death with all these temples.", so I got rid of that shot.
To make it up to you - and especially to John (Happypoppeye) who liked the posting of yesterday that is no more - not a temple today.
This is a shot of the Petitenget beach at sunset, about two kilometers North of the temple of the past days.
Technical note:
I've been running around with my Cokin filterset and for this one - shot from tripod - the filterset was entirely full with filters, being:
- Neutral Density Filter P154;
- Coking P027 soft warming filter;
- And last but not least the Cokin P 125L Gradual Tobacco filter, top-to-bottom.
Oh yes, and off course a UV filter ;-).
Only a slight smart sharpen after resizing, the rest is thanks to my heavy backpack with filters, tripod and ballheads.
This photograph is part of my travelogue Bali by Dennis.

Hallo Dennis,
Mooie foto...
Fijn weekend, Henk

Dennis,
Wonderful colors, and pleasant mood in this one.
I like the soft blur too, a very nice image,

Hi Dennis,
This is a terrific sunset shot. Of course there are thousands of sunset photos, but this one stands out a la person with flipflops walking past the sun. I didn't know you can stack that many filters. Really cool shot man. I love it.
tschüss,
Brian

Ha, good note. The temple shots are great, and for people like me, sitting in a very "non-photogenic" or "not so exotic" part of the world so to speak - those shots never get boring. I could look at them all day and daydream I'm in Bali. So keep posting them - all "hundreds" of them.
As for this one, nice sunset. Love the darker colors with all those stacked filters. I still have my Cokin set somewhere. Ahhh, memories of carrying tons of equipment... The color seems to just "fall-off" as you go towards the edges of the photo which looks really good. The slightly blurred figure walking past looks great too. A sense of calm and relaxation is what this one is all about.
Great work.
Thanks for the mention.
John

Hi Dennis,
Wonderful control of the light .. great colors. But most of all it is nice to see a sunset shot with a thoughtful element .. like a person and their tracks in the sand.
take care,
John

Always happy to see sunsets done in a different manner, and I think you've done a good job here. The darkness is very moody, almost eerie kind of feeling you get with a solar eclipse...and the blurred figure just adds to that.
