Pura Rambut Siwi is one of the coastal temples in Bali and is perched on a cliff in the west of the island. You can see my earlier photograph of the temple here .

Pura Rambut Siwi is located on the coast in Jembrana, west Bali, 50km west of Ubud. On the main road, a temple sign on the main road led us to a small road 750m long, heading perpendicular to the main road led us to the temple which overlooks the ocean.

The temple was founded in the 16th Century by Niratha, a Hindu priest from Java. He loved the location and after building the temple spent his time spreading the Hindu religion in the Bali. Before he left the temple he gave a lock of his hair and a set of his clothes which are supposedly still at Pura Rambut Siwi stored in the inner courtyard. The temple is now known as the temple for worshipping the hair.

Entrance Fees for this temple was Rupiah 10,000 per person, which after paying, we entered the complex. There were no tourists around and it was really blissfully peaceful & tranquil...the only sound coming from the waves lashing on the cliff face below. The view from the perch of the cliff is breathtaking. Standing there we felt that we were standing at the end of the landmass with nothing but the enormous seas in front of us.

On the rear of the remple, looking over the cliff, we saw a shrine (centre of the frame) & I told my wife what it would look like at high tide with the water totally surrounding it. One of the temple banjars told me that the shrine marks the place where Niratha first landed.

I don’t think many tourists go to this temple, which is surprising considering the fantastic view one gets from the temple complex. I took this photo from above the terrace made of red bricks, in the rear of the temple...You may see that the sand on the beach is black as is in this entire stretch of more than 50 Km.

Hello Angshuman.
Another fine shot from you...Again, I must state that the colors that you capture in your photos are quite distinctive...I guess, not the colors, but the cast...a sort of crispness. Anyhow, fantastic. The bits of temple present in this shot sit out very well against the blue of the sea below. A nice crop also to use the branches on the left as a balance to the expanse of the sea.
Regards,
Chris.

Hello Angshu,
A beautiful beach scenery from Bali!
An attractive diagonal composition, where the foreground interest is captured with great details...
Lovely view of the blue sea, where the small surf keep rolling in!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Angshuman. Interesting note that gives greater significance to what we are seeing. Even without the note one can still marvel at the choice of site for a temple.- looking into infinity, where sky meets the sea. Beautiful colours of the sea and rich earthy tones of the bricks used for the construction of the temple. nice PoV that allows us to see some details of the temple and even the dark volcanic sand of the beach.Well done. Regards. Klaudio.

I like the way you show the water seen over the temple. Very good point of view.
Achim

Hi Angshuman

Wonderful color of the turquoise sea, contrasting against the warm reds of the fg roof & brick structure, with a superb high pov & excellent sharpness. Tfs!

Olá Angshu, looking at your previous one of this place, I can see exactely from where you took this photo. Interesting that there's few or none tourists here: it's better to feel the beauty of the place and with such a sight, our thoughts can fly far away...I like your "L" framing, which goes well with these feelings that I just described. I guess that I wouldn't see the shrine if you didn't mentioned it. Lovely place to empty our head ;-)
Have a nice week,
Ricardo

HI Angshuman,

Bonjour, mon ami Angshu,
Philippe

Dear Angshu,
A temple so close to the sea, reminiscent of Mahabalipuram although the architecture and brick structure is different. Well framed with the trees which not only provides a sense of depth but adds a different shade of colour.
Well Done!
Best Wishes
Sabyasachi

Hi Angshu,
fine glimps of a temple with the full attention at its magnifienst situation in the form of the turquoise ocean view.
Great work.

Impressive and beautiful place, Angshuman, well captured by your eyes and lens! A very good composition, mixing the temple and the natural background! Good job! TFS! Regards! Miguel.

Hi Angshu,
This has a tropical island feel to it with religious undertones. Very peaceful. Like your pov, good colors and DOF. Regards. Danilo

Hi Angshuman,

A nice photo of the shrine and of the sea where someone can enjoy the quietness and the beauty of the place. The photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre

You're right Angshu, I don't think this site gets many visitors, I also missed it, since I wasn't aware of it. You obtained a pleasant shot here too, well composed and nice colors, although the previous one was really spectacular. Regards, Daniel

Hi Angshuman,
Great composition, I like the way of doing the setting, with a part of the temple and the vegetation off-centre, in foreground, and the splendid sea with the white striping that the foam of the waves draws in the rest of the picture, with a nice graphism.
It is a beautiful photo, my friend.
Best regards,
Josep

Dear Angshu,
This is a fascinating and refined impression, again! Its a spectacular POV and very good diagonal composition. Details are very nice and rich. Excellent shot!
Thank you, nice day

Hi Angshu
Great 'paradise' scene here. Before reading the notes I thought this is some kind of holiday resort with traditional, 'ruined' decoration! To build a temple here is really cool you took this picture very well with perfect horizon and good contrasting elements in a nice frame, tfs.
Cheers

Hello Angshuman,
this is a beautiful mix of the vegetation that grows over this beach and the beach itself with the small waves breaking slowly. I like a lot the graphic effect that the branchs create on foreground, the digonal created by the beach and open view over the sea on the right side of the photo.
Cheers.
Paulo

More sea than temple here, but this time you had an excellent weather with both blue sky and blue sea (the sea color is closely related to the sky color, as you know). I like the very white waves, and the vegetation of the left.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hi Angshu,
your shots are always a perfect colorful combination!
Perfect POV which show some details of the shrine.
Superb turquoise sea with white waves.
Very very well done!

Hi Angshuman,

I love the way everything sits so naturally into the environment and your composition.
The left side framing of the near greenery and branches is really nice .. the line from the corner of the balcony to the shrine is very effective as well. You certainly have communicated the tranquility of this place ..

Hi Angshuman,
A wonderful sescape shot.Great colours and composition.TFS.

Hi angshu,
It is a lovely place for a temple. As sabyasachi notes, the trees and the temple provide a wonderful frame for the sea. HLJ, Pat

Hi Angshuman,

I like the vivid colors you captured as well as the excellent composition. Looking at this image I feel like running straight into the ocean. Well done.

Spiros

Hello Angshu,
When I saw the compo it reminds me straight away of the other one "Temple by the sea". I like the POV showing the vastness of the ocean and the part of the temple in FG. A well balanced image...
Cheers,
Marilyn

Hi Angshuman. Great photo. I love the way you have balanced the vertical trees with the horizontal shrine with the diagonal waves. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Good view Angshu, well composed and with interesting architecture and nature, the frame from the trees and from the temple lead my eyes to the beautiful sea, beautiful colours too, compliments.
Ciao
Vinicio

Hi Angshu,
never saw this place before. What a beautiful sight. I like the perspective. Beautiful colours. Maybe a place I have to explore on my next trip to Bali.
Best wishes,

Hi friend

Amazing composition and nice pov. I like the colours and clear shot. Also is a clear image.

Hi Angshu - what an awe inspiring setting for a temple, the breaking patterns of the waves fill the sea nicely, the vegetation gives it an almost lost in the jungle atmosphere.

The sea in this shot is captured in one of the most natural style I've seen. Excellent colors and perspective. I like a lot the inclusion of the shrine in the center. Great place and thanks for letting us know the place my friend. Great note too!

Hi Angshuman
Interesting view from the temple. Curious shrine on the beach. I like colours. But I wonder what serve this rag for? ;)
Regards

HI Angshu, i like a lot this wonderful view and place!
the colours are wonderful and very good compo!
Ciao!

Hello friend
It pleases the panoramic one to me that is reflected from the POV that you took.
The surge on the sand, emphasizes a beautiful composition, plenty of light, details and clarity. The marine horizon is united very appropriately with the sky, and the details to the left complement an excellent scene

Must be a cool place. I'm surprised the beach seems so small (because of the tide ?). Good pov and sea mood.
