Photographer’s Note

Indonesia and especially Java is famous for its top quality coffee. Besides that we should not forget that it's also the 5th country of the world in tea production. This photo was taken in a huge tea plantation in Ciwalini, West Java, where they produce green and black tea of the highest quality.

Excellent shot with a superb DOF and colours. She looks very attentive at what she is doing. I also like her hat. The composition is very good, keeping all that blurred background. Well done.

This is a wonderfully soft image Hercules - and I meant that in a good way. It's in focus, but has a nice soft feel.

The expression is excellent too.

There is a warm diffused saturation created by the overcast, even sky.

A lovely scene in the fields that you captured very well using a narrow DoF that enhances the importance of this lady in the scene, and I love her hat, its blue color pops up !

Man, that is some serious depth of field you got going here. It works really well to focus the viewer so clearly on your subject. At first I thought the blur a little too severe but it works well with the mist I think.

excelentye captura de esta mujer en pleno trabajo de recolección. Se puede apreciar en la foto la gran plantación y el ambiente húmedo y desapacible que tiene que soportar durante su trabajo. Buen trabajo con los ajustes, dejamdo el fondo de la foto desenfocado para destacar mejor el sujeto de tu foto.

Cultivation of good quality tea is closely associated with the presence of mist. And it is this mist here that really enhances this image not to forget the tea picker herself. I am fond of tea gardens myself having snapped lots of images in the tea gardens of Darjeeling but its the special headgear of the tea picker that makes this unique.

Nice DOF which bring out the main subject of the picture. She looks like she is enjoying her work but I know that it is not a easy job. I believe this is in one of the cool highlands in West Java. The headgear and its colors is definitely something unique to Java. I like your other works as well, will find some time to browse through them.

tea and tea picking is one of my favorite subjects, love to take images of these. this shot is so good, with the lady caught in action. great textures with DOf and light/colors.

Hercules, I love the photo which is really natural and real!!!

I just saw this one, and the color and composition immediately caught my attention. Very nicely framed woman in action with a backdrop of hills and clouds. I guess the polarizer was useful for having more saturated greens. I wish you could stop down just a bit more to have the background slightly more within the depth of field. Best wishes, Hakan.
