Photographer’s Note
On a side street to the west of Kerta Gosa is the great stone gateway the Pemedal Agung, riddled with bullet holes during the 1908 puputan (means “finishing”). I’ve taken this picture from inside the Kerta Gosa. The silhouette of the carved pillar and part of the sloping ceiling is visible on the left. & top.
The gateway’s main door, side doors, and arch are extensively carved. This tall gateway behind Kerta Gosa once led into Bali’s most splendid palace, which was destroyed in the Dutch bombardments of 1908 that resulted in the conquest of the island. A memorial to this terrible Puputan battle, that ended 600 years of glorious rule in Bali by the descendants of Majapahit, has been erected on the eastern side of regent’s office, across the road from Kertha Gosa.
The red colours have taken a richer hue due to the rains.
In the first WS, I have cropped the pillar on the left half way through to make the picture look a bit different framing wise. Pls. let me know which one you like better.
In the second WS, I've darkened the colours more, resultant a richer colour in the bricks & the sky is darker..definitely offers more contrast. But I've gone with the original, the way it actually was.

Incredible colors! The composition is excellent, I like the silhouette on the first plane, and the colors of the sky you got in a cloudy day. Well done!

Hello Angshuman! I love the way the shadow frames this magnificent building! Nice work!

Hi Angshu,
Once again the clouds adds to your photo rather than diminish it in any way. Excellent framing. The colour of the bricks contrasts so nicely with the dazzling green. I only wish the building (museum) on the right could be avoided but than thats easier said than done.
Best Wishes

Bonjour Angshu,

Hi Angshu
I like very much the way you have used the pillar as a framing device. I think I prefer altered image 1 since with the pillar up against the edge of the photo. A good POV and nice vibrant colours.
Best wishes

Hi Angshu,
Very dramatic picture with that sky! Love the old texture of building and the contrasting 'modern' red tiles to the right. Good tech quality all the way. I like your additional WS too. Very nice pic!

Olá Angshu,
I think I'll go for the second WS, less natural but more striking colors and contrasts. The result is more appealing for me and it doesn't look so unnatural. To tell you the truth, the diference is not so noticeble...And I like more this framing with the hole pillar than the alternative in the first WS. It's a good complementar shot to your previous posts. The green and its complementar orange color make an attractive combination in these images, especially for the fact of their richer hues.
Friendly regards,
Ricardo

Hi Angshu,
There are so many interesting details in this image!
Besides it is a fine composition, nicely framed and with good lines...
The colours are impressive, strong and vivid!

To be honest I can't see too much difference between this and the PPed version; they both have that attractive "drawn" quality I mentioned to you before. The red/green contrast is very appealing. I do prefer the different crop option in the Ws as it provides more of a frame to direct our attention within the garden; on the original my eyes do keep wandering to the other side of the pillar. BUT another fine image from this place

Hi Angshu,
You show us again a very lovely picture of your country, very contrasting image, the dark silhouette to left together with the fantastic green colours and imminent clouds at the sky make your picture very attractive.

Hi Angshuman,
Good frame in this composition, with the silhouette of the pillar and the ceiling in a good backlighting. The rest of the image is pleasant, in spite of bad weather, and it has amazing and very smooth colors. The red tones emphasize very well in the set.
Done well.

Josep

Hi Angshu,
What amazing colors in your photo!
And I think that I prefer this one to the two of the WS (I prefer the pillar with the space on its left, than the slightly tighter FOV in WS1).
Sharpness and details are brilliant.
Kind regards and have a great week!

Hi Angshu
Interesting and amazing colours; enhanced no doubt by the overcast conditions. The silhouette is a good feature in the foreground and contrasts well with the colours and light in the overall scene. Good sharpness and details
Well done

Hello Angshu,
another great shot here of yours. It looks like more a painting than a photo with these fantastic colours and perfect sharpness. The pov is very good and I prefer this version with the entire pillar. Nice work!
Tfs and best wishes!

Hi Angshu,
I really like both of your workshops; both the crop and the enhanced colors are good additions to the already lovely color and detail of this beautiful temple and its garden.

Hello Angshuman,
Another great compostion with very pleasant colours and a perfect sharpness as usual.
The orange tones of the bricks really contrast with this green environment.

Another grey sky, bt which does not disturb the luxuriance of the colors of the pictures. I like these grey and red-orange walls, surrounded by the green vegetation.
All the best,
