[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The city of Jogjakarta is famous for its batik textiles and very delicate silver jewelry and artifacts. Tourists are invited to visit the workshops and see how the products are being made by hand with very simple tools. Of course, they are also encouraged to buy products after the visit to the workshop.

The picture shows a worker melting a little piece of silver using a little oil lamp. I focused on his hand and the golden coloured flame, which resulted in a rather short DOF under these lighting conditions. But the dedicated and concentrated expression on the man's face is still visible, as well as the curious look into the camera of the guy behind him.

An interesting daily life photo, nicely composed. Lots of detail both in the man on the right and the utensils in front of him. I like the blueish tone of the background.

Interesting shot and good note. I think the DOF works well here. Nice details on the man in the front and very nice composition. However, at least to me, the flame looks a little over-saturated. Also, I find the bright yellow line in the frame really distracting.

I like the shallow DOF, adds a bit to the obviously dim working area. It works well that it is the co-worker and not the main subject looking into the camera.

Wonderful colors you have here. You captured the man's intensity and worl pride very well. I like his tools. The look of curiosity from the second man is as important as the man who is so concentrated on this work.
