Photographer’s Note

Just going through some of my photos from last May's trip to Bali, Indonesia and this one caught my eye.

This photo was taken one morning outside The Bali Hilton where we were staying in an area of Bali called Nusa Dua.

Although Indonesia is the worlds most populous Muslim country, most Balinese people are Hindu.
The first thing I noticed were the religious offerings to the gods seemingly everywhere and for everything. The handmade offerings normally consisted of a small handmade tray made of banana leaves, containing rice, flowers and incense.

Being up for the sunrise it was interesting seeing the locals going about their daily life. In this case, the elder was placing offering on the beach and into the ocean.

All the best,
- Dan
