Photographer’s Note
Here's another one of my Ubud's procession picture. As they are walking so fast I was also following them like crazy. When I spotted them, I knew I just had to capture them through my camera. They walked past by me, I took three shots, I look at the LCD, not satisfied with the shots, ran after them, took another three shots, not satisfied with the results again... it went on and on.
Anyway, this is the best that I took of them. I tried to make it as sharp as possible and I blurred the background to highlight at just them. The Ladies in Yellow: Pretty in Yellow.

They are pretty with colorful dresses and hats. I like the framing and how you blurred the background. I also like how the girl is watching the camera... Well captured.

This is great, Manny. Reading your note and then looking at the picture again, the left lady seems to think "Oh my, is this guy with the camera ever going to get his job done?" ;-) Colors are splendig, and I like those intricate details on the hats the ladies are wearing. Nice shot!

Very pretty and very colourful. The composition works well: for each girl there is a strong relationship between her face and arms, but the relationship differs as between the girls. The fact that the closer girl is the one that is aware of your presence gives the shot much greater impact (more 'immediacy'?).

Vous savez, Cher Manuel, saisir les images dont les couleurs claquent comme des draps par grand vent !
Belle composition de ces jeunes filles. Cadrage serré.
You know, Dear Manuel, to seize the images whose colors claquent like cloths in high wind conditions! Beautiful composition of these girls. Tight framing.

So colorful! The yellow dresses and the wonderful hats make an excellent color contrast with their skin color.I like the eyes of the girl at the right side. I think you could also have a nice close-up with her and ger hat. Very well done, Manuel.

As usual you share with us another enaging portrait. For me the fact that there are two persons in your frame makes this picture work so well. The colours and all other interesting elements are there, but now you let the viewer enjoy double of everything, with the viewer's eyes going back and forth between these two colourful girls. Very well done!

Your efforts are rewarded, this photo bursts by its colours and the tight composition is pleasant just showing what is needed.
Merry time of the Holidays!
Vos efforts sont récompensés, cette photo éclate par ses couleurs et la composition serrée est plaisante montrant juste ce qu'il faut.
Joyeux temps des Fêtes!

Blurring the background was an excellent choice. You may have blurred some of them as well, though. I'm trying to figure out how to do this myself. If you select them with a lasso tool, but keep you distance, you can go in again with either a clone or blur tool on a small brush to finish up right around them. That first girl has a very pretty expression. I'm sure she is wondering who this crazy guy is chasing and shooting photos! I can see I am in good company!

I'd love to learn more about taking pictures of people. Am sure you're totally satisfied and worth running to these girls again and again. The colours, the costumes are so rich and colourful. Well done.

One almost always see photographs of Balinese dancers in perfect, sculptural poses. To see them in this light (and color) is refreshing. The delicate balance between the exotic and the mundane has been achieved. The world will revolve one more time. Salamat po.

fantastic result!! Blurring the background is a good idea and very effective. The expressions and colors are even more alive now.
Great!

I cannot say the girl on the right was irritated by you being so assertive. She might feels herself a photo model after that :-)
There is good dynamizm in this photo with the girls' looks.

This is a great subject, never tire of it, I think the shot asks for just a little more space around them, and not sure what film you used, but I find the colors lack vibrancy, after looking at other bali dancers pix. Nevertheless, I'd be proud of this shot if i took it. Your struggle paid off.
