Wonderful capture. Love the composition. The golden colours hitting the 'bird' are replicated in the horizon. Very well exposed. Great note as well. TFS.

5:52, oula, ca c'est encore le milieu de la nuit pour moi...et dire que t'as marcher 4h avant...pffffff ;)
Cette lumière du levé de soleil qui vient donner ces belles teintes oranges sur cette roche c'est superbe...les couleurs sont à tomber.
Pis cette splendide profondeur avec ces sommets encore dans l'ombre et cette mer de nuages...magnifique.
Bref que dire de plus que merci pour ce beau partage et bravo pour l'effort qui a été récompensé par ce moment qui devait être magnifique.

Un truc de Ouf !
Mettre son réveil à minuit, crapahuter 4h pour voir quelques nuages en dessous d'un rocher. Et bien OUI j'en aurai fait autant !
Il y en a bien des cinglés qui courrent après un ballon pendant plus d'un heure, alors qu'il suffit de leur en donner un chacun...
Humour primaire s'abstenir!!!!!!!!!

Après être passée toute ta vie à voir la Terre d'en haut, où trouves tu le courage de redescendre? C'est féérique. je ne peux m'empêcher d'imaginer ce que j'aurais ressenti si j'étais là. Et pourtant la montagne ne m'attire pas tant que ça... très beau.

Wow...
Tu sais, J'habite pas tres loin de ce volcan, mais moi, je jamais arriver jusqu'au sommet.. :) hehehe.. il faut vraiment tres motive pour pouvoir le faire..
Mais pour "les mountains lovers", j'ai cree, avec ma compagnie ou je travaille, un circuit ou on aura l'occassion d'escalader Le Merapi, le Bromo, le Kawa Ijen, le Agung (a Bali) et le Rinjani (a Lombok)..

truly beautiful vierw from the summit of Mt. Merapi. Though I have been there several times (escorting clients) surely I won't have this pictures ... coz I always went thru south or Kaliurang route. Thru this route I could not reach the top like you did.
For others, if want to have the real top of Mt. Merapi, please use this picture's route or Selo village or northern route.

Belle photo, Brigitte, dis donc, le Merapi c'est interdit d'aller jusqu'en haut il me semble!
Il est vrai qu'en Indonésie les règles, personne ne les respecte.
Question coucher de soleil sur les sommets, je me suis un peu calmé, la déception est parfois au RDV.
Là, ce n'est pas le cas, le contraste entre les teintes rougeoyantes ru terrible Merapi contrastant avec le bleu froid de l'horizon.

Brigitte, a stunning shot from above the clouds. Wonderful light on the forground rocks makes them look like they are on fire. And the mountains in the distance are like islands in a sea of cotton wool.

Salut Brigitte. Wow, an amazing atmosphere in this beautiful scene from the southeast-Asian mountains. Excellent framing where the sun brings out the beautiful details and color of the foreground rocks, and in the back we get this inspiring view of the cloudy layers hovering above and in front of more mountain landscape. Excellent work, I like it.

Every time I look at your photos Brigitte I feel so unfit. The dynamic warm foreground is a powerful contrast to the cool blues. Yes it surely was worth the effort.

Wow, what a scene, Brigitte. The morning sunlight has just touched the peak of the mountain. The foreground rock well contrasts with the blue mountain in distance and matches the colors of the clouds far away. We can feel that it was getting warm after a cold night. The clouds below hided the deep valley which only leaves us to imagine how tall the mountain is. An outstanding picture. The view is well worth the efforts to get there. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very impressive composition, Brigitte. I love photographs that are taken above the clouds (one of these days I will get around posting some of my ballooning photographs) because the light is so different than on the ground. The early morning sun on the summit rocks provides a magnificent contrast in colour and tone to the mountains on the horizon. Great one! Cheers . . . David
