A stunning view from beachside at the Bali Hilton Hotel in Nusa Dua. Looking down the beach I spotted this volcanic rocky outcropping, with the waves crashing against it. Making for a beautiful photo... I hope you like my slightly "altered" version of the original...

All the best,
- Dan

fantastic indeed, Dan
the waves so marvelous
beautiful colors

Hi Dan,
I like it. I like the strange colour for the sky and the person walking on the right side. I didn't go to Nusa Dua. Should I go the next time?
Nino

I would like to know what the original version is like ;-)
I'm not sure, Dan, I don't know what you did exactly with the image, I think the wave is stunning, breaking on the rock, but the foreground water looks strange, as if you applied some motion blur.
The yellow sky looks weird, and personally I don't like it. I think the picture is too sharp, the strange thing is that it is not OVERsharpened, yet I get a strange feeling.
Yes, I would certainly like to know what PP-work you did.
Please, reveal it to me......
(couldn't sleep, so I got out of bed)
be back tomorrow, uhhh, for a light green smiley I think ;-)

Hey Dan,
Wow! This is a most dynamic capture. The colours are fabulous, and the sky a perfect contrast. It appears as if you may have smoothed the ocean a tad in the foreground with Neat Shop etc., but regardless I like the effect because it contrasts sharply with the violent foamy wave action beyond. The rock outcropping resembles an aircraft carrier. A most successful capture.
John

Beautiful composition Daniel, wonderful point of view and great panorama. The waves, the rocks are gorgeous with a special sky, great presentation, thanks for sharing.

Hi Daniel,
I like your shot. I like the rock and the waves. They look good and sort of unreal. If I am not mistaken, there is a person near the end of the rock. I think ot would have been better if the person (if it actually is one) had been standing on the end of the rock, but I know you have no control over this.
I had a look at your original, and I have to agree with your decision of changing the sky's color. In the original, it looked too much like the water, and there was nothing to seperate the two. Seperations are not always good, but in this case, I think it is kind of necessary.
I like what you did with the water. It now looks as though you took this picture in movement, in a fast boat for example.
The thing I don't really like is the sky. As I said, you kind of had to do something about that, but I think the change to yellow is a bit intense. It does look good, but for someone like me who has never been to Asia, and used to Atlantic Canada skies, it looks a bit exagerated. Maybe skies look like that in Asia, but because I know you used Photoshop to correct the original sky, I can't help but think that it is not real and not possible. You did everything right here, but I just think that wiht the sky and waves, the photo now looks too surreal. It's just the combination of the two elemnts that make this photo look "too" perfect, because it does really look good.

But you did a good job, and your photos were most interesting to look at.

Thanks indeed for sharing
Best reagards
Louis
