Danau Maninjau is a mountain lake in the highlands of Bukittinggi, Western Sumatra. The lake is surrounded by a breathtaking scenery of verdant ricefields and luxuriant vegetation. From the mountain ridge surrounding it, a path winds its way down in steep curves along the rice terraces, allowing for stunning views. This picture was taken in the plateau forming a ring between the mountains and the lake. In the background you can see a mosque used by the Muslim Minangkabau people living in this area.
