I like the stark mystery of this - the question mark it raises in the mind.......the dynamic out of the frame cut adds to this in leading the eye and mind to wonder what is beyond.

ha, lost as in "Lost", the TV series? :) the similarity is striking, almost scary...
fascinating photo, the contrasts between cool shadows and blinding sunlight are almost as strong as the need to know what happened to the plane. and I agree with Kev that the dramatic off-center and out-of-frame composition works really well, there's something very documentary in this photo, as if I was an explorer walking in the rainforest and suddenly saw this plane, no staging, no time to think about rules of composition...

I am so curious I'dlike to read more in your note!
What works here is the singularity of the scene. The mistery... and the rainforest totally surrounding the ruins of the aircraft. It seems it's been there for a long time already...
However, technically I think it is not quite that. I mean, I think the composition works well and that the pic has something to tell on its own but maybe due to too much post processing, I see too much saturation, noise and a clear lack of sharpness. I do not totally agree with Kristine. I think you had time to think of your composition, settings and so on. The plane was not going to take off :P
However, thanks for sharing a such unusaual scene!
