Photographer’s Note
This crocodile farm is about 5 km from Medan, a city of 2-3 million, on the the east coast of northern Sumatra. The same species of crocodile as found in Northern Australia, PNG & the Solomon Islands, is also found throughout South East Asia, including Indonesia.
Please see WORKSHOP, to see what the crocodiles were fed for lunch. My apologies to all the animal rights activists. I decided to use my 300mm zoom lens for this one!

Wow, Chris, quite a drammatic shot, especially the workshop! It reminds me of a holiday in Australia years ago where I saw similar scenes ... Thanks for sharing!

Hi Chris,
Hope you've been there with a good tele (500mm and above) ;-))
Good view with a biting potential and a learning dimension as well as I did not know such crocs can be found in Indonesia, are they related to their NT cousins ?
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Chris,
Nice patterns and textures. The details are great. It would be more dramatic if you are lucky to have one with its mouth wide open - ready to snap! Nice capture! Menarik sekali. Regards.

A good snap of these chaps. Interesting semi-abstract graphic effect. Maybe the shallow DoF detracts from that a bit, but I guess that's what you get on 300mm, and I wouldn't want it any shorter for that.

Hi Chris, This is a scary scene, I think. I believe your 300mm is good enough to keep yourself distance away from these creatures. After seeing they eat lunch, I guess those crocodiles are raised to be someone’s lunch.
You have done a great job to clearly capture the group of crocodile.

Good use of repetition in this assembly of the crocs, Chris. The patterns of their shells are well utilized for the compo. That's definitely a scene you want to shoot at 300 mm.

Hello Chris

i like the picture of animals,i often hesitate to post some here, but finally they make learn about earth.

It is really a good idea to use a 30omm zoom lens in this place, Chris. A scary puzzle of these monsters. From the thumbnail it's hard to say if they are crocs or snakes, but the image breakes the doubts.
It's better to be far during their lunch.

Hi Chris,
Well I prefere this one to the workshop, but the WS is interesting to look at. I am really not a big fan of crocodiles, actually dont tell anyone, but they kind od give me the freaks... I am really glad that they dont appreciate the cold.
Really good shot with all those fat beats in the frame. Good warm colors that dont really go with the subject.
