Photographer’s Note
This is a picture of a fellow traveller at Lake Maninjau in Sumatra.
I played with levels here to make the sky more ominous... it might also make this too dark. What do you think?

Good shot! I think the sky levels are fine. I find the position of your frame interesting though - there appears to be some non-image space on the inside at the bottom and on the sides. I think it adds balance to the composition though. In all a very nice, moody capture - nice work :-D

I like the silhouette. Is this a scene through a window? Somehow, it looks like a painting in a black frame. The composition is very good. IMO, the sky is a bit bright, thus, the picture doesn't look real. The black frame is unnecessary cause your picture has a natural frame.

Yes, quite a moody shot! One can sense the coming storm and the silhouette seems just as if bowing to the power of Nature..I like the frame as it strengthens the emanated feelings of the dark colours. Very well seen and captured!

I think you did very well. For me it is the strong contrast that contributes to the total impression of this pic.

Great photo. I like very much how the silhoutte of the trees, bottom and man work as a frame to the landscape beyond. It's almost like a window.
Great mood in this picture.

"Ombres Chinoises"
Jolie composition d'un homme en train de lire. Il me semble qu'il s'est endormi. l'effet silhouette est réussi.
Le ciel dramatique et le mouvement des vagues sur le lac agrémentent cette image.
"Chinese Shades"
Pretty composition of a man reading. It seems to me that it fell asleep the silhouette effect is successful. The dramatic sky and the movement of the waves on the lake give a big impact to this picture.

I like the silhouette effect. The double framing is cool and the overall effect is very artistic - and very zen. A good place to be.

I love the tranquil, dark and calm solitude you have captured here. The silouhettes from the trees encloses the picture very well - and it really gives the feeling that human can be so close to nature.

nope i dont think it's too dark. you needed to have a silhoutte here. the forground , because of the silhouette , has sooo much peace, while your background with the ominous sky is on the other pole.
a fantastic silhouette alex
well done
take care :)
