Photographer’s Note

Taken from the stairwell of a shopping mall in downtown makassar, I took a few shots to isolate a rickshaw against the pavement.

Makassar is the fourth largest ciy in indonesia and the largest city in Sulawesi. It has about 2,5 million people in the metropolitan area.

Bonsoir, Daniel.
Cette photo se détache bien du fond du TE...
Le POV en plongée est souvent très attractif, et là, tu as deux personnages et deux véhicules sur un fond gris, ce qui augmente encore l'effet (contraste).
La définition n'est peut-être pas au top, mais le temps sombre (c'est peut-être le soir) ? et la distance justifie pleinement cela.
Simple mais très attractif.

Nice work here, this one is very dynamic and moody. Three main elements, each bringing a splash of contrast, be it by intense green or blue or black, set on the empty expanse of the road. Nice work.

Panning effect is great and the colors jump out wonderfully over the uniform metal grey tarmac, but I think the key to this photo is the green fence, it woud not be half as good without.

Makassar is not a very pleasant city, wonder if you've been eating out with all the drunk sailors at kios semarang.. they had the most wonderful nasi goreng with torajan wild red rice.

Beyond the dnamism here there is something exqisite about the way the focus, the suddens harpnes lands on that little rickshaw on the right. Beautifullly composed, Danile, one of your very best shots in my opinion.

Excellent diagonal framing. The road gives a nice background and the blurred motorcycle gives a very good effect of dynamism here.

bon choix du point de vue en effet. On sent comme une courbe dans la position des deux véhicules. Et j'aime bien ce bout de ligne verte créee par la barrière. Un genre qui me plait bien : )

J'aime bien ta photo.....y a un truc qui me plait, sans savoir dire vraiment ce que c'est....je la trouve vivante, je trouve le traitement trsè intéressant, ce mec ressort vraiment bien, le tilt donne un plus, la bande verte sur la droite apporte son plus également.....je sais pas....moi j'aime :)
Il aurait peut-être juste fallu un décallage entre les 2 sujets....mais ca c'est juste pour pinailler ;)

Reminds me to a film scene, something modern and experimentel. Love it. The perspective is cool. Good colours. I like that it gives room for some kind of story of the riksha-guy...

I think, besides the motion blur, tilted graphism and the effective empty greyness of the road; that green fence is the key to a masterpiece.
I find the frame a bit too large, but this is your choice and i respect it.

Hello Daniel! Very well seen! While it's a somewhat minimalistic compo, there's still much to contemplate. The angle of the image and moped of course add a sense of motion. The juxtaposition of the non-blurred ricksaw driver versus the moped is very creative. Your timing was perfect to capture that effect.

Je vois qui tu est rentre de tes vacances tres motives et avec un paquet des belles photos! Je trouve celle ci une belle reussite, la moto en mouvement contre le rickshaw bien net. Le pave offre un excellent contraste.

Very nice view down to the road with these two people. The blur of the motorcycle is nice to show that it's going faster than the rickshaw. The green fence is a good addition too and I like the tilt. Well done!

Salut Daniel, elle est très chouette celle ci, j'y reviens et viens de trouver ce qui me plait beaucoup dans ce cliché mis a part le coté graphique certes, le tilt certes, c'est surtout la gestion des "coins". A gauche un bon vigneting et à droite une légère diagonale verte et en haut pas de vigneting .. l'oeil est attiré par le haut droite du coup et ça le fait bien je trouve ... on se demande d'ou il vient du coup ce pousse pousse.
Graphisme au top, j'adoore :)
Concernant ta critique sur ma dernière photo, je n'ai pas encore la réponse, difficile de bien géré les expositions lors des clichés de nuit.

Hola Daniel, me encanta la luz de esta foto, es sencilla pero con mucha carga de movimiento y dinamismo quizás por la inclinación de la imagen y las distintas velocidades de los dos vehículos.

Buen trabajo de composición y encuadre, felicidades.
