Photographer’s Note
Jukung is a small wooden traditional boat. Usually used for fishing by Balinese fishermen, nowaday used for "Jukung Dives" too by some dive operators.
Originally Jukung using double outrigger and triangular sail. Jukung is superb in its reaching ability and jybe-safe running. They are usually highly decorated and bear a marlin-like prow.
In the late 1980s there was a race for at least a thousand miles in open outrigger canoes by nine crews who travelled from Bali to Darwin across the Timor Sea.

Hello Ismojo,
The low vantage point creates a most beguiling silhouette, like those of giant crabs crawling on the beach. The sky presents a spectacular backdrop to the scene. Bali used to evoke emotions of an idyllic suburb of paradise, until that picture was dashed by the senseless terrorism of the night club bombing a few years ago. Thanks for sharing this photo.
Warm regards from Virginia,
Bulent

Hello Ismojo,
These boats look a bit like giant, colourful insects. I like your composition giving such prominence to the dark clouds. They are very well captured with fine nuances of grey.
Kind regards,
Gert
