Photographer's Note

Rumah Adat is the Indonesian word for traditional house. This is a traditional Sumbanese house - fairly simple and basic. The inside consists mainly of a fire place in the center and around that are the sleeping places. I took this picture in a far off village, without electricity etc. It was an interesting experience.

Hi!

Very good shot, with a dynamic composition. It's amazing how different are the "rumah adat", from one island to another. It is not the same on Alor and it is different from both Alor or Sumba, on Timor...
Bright colors which give a good mood to this sober shot. Maybe you could crop the little piece of roof at the left corner up and forget the frame to keep your picture in a larger size. But good photo anyway...
