Photographer's Note

This was taken during my late afternoon routine when the menacing sky was filled by blanket of moody clouds. What looked like bad conditions changed quickly, I've got some nice breaks in the sky when the sunlight lit up the low clouds and backlighting them. The very immediate sense of evening glow was enough to give the moment I was looking for; the added warmth, and a super mixture of sunlight & dark stormy clouds.

I can't control the sun but patience is the key. Photography, I strongly believe is about catching that brief moment in time, that moment in time that will never happen again.

Shot from a small wooden jetty in Maumere bay overlooking Wuring fishing village.

sei riuscito a cogliere un momento di eccezionale bellezza, come giustamente fai notare nella tua nota.
Infatti, a parte la perfezione della composizione e del paesaggio ripreso, il fascino di questo scatto sta nella luce dorata e nel bagliore tra le nubi che si raddoppia sulle acque aggiungendo ulteriore bellezza.
Inutile ripetere che tecnicamente la foto è perfetta perchè a questo ci hai abituato da sempre.

another gorgeous shot from Indonesia.
some people may find the bottom area of the frame to be too dark, but i think it works well this way.
the focal point is actually the brightly lit clouds in the far bg as they act like a lighthouse beacon.
how could anyone not love the ambiance and lighting.

hello,
although the whole scene is really beautiful and well organized I think that this amazingly lit cloud actually makes the whole difference. Sometimes tiny detail can bring the photo from very good to excellent and in my opinion this is it.

I think this is also a very good daily life-picture. That fishing village (with stilt houses?) surely invites to its exploration.
The bright light on the cloud in the middle and the reflection on the water make this picture of course masterfully beautiful. Wonderful colour contrasts!

Incredible beauty of this composition, the whole is delightful, stunning golden color of the cloud, is a very curious phenomenon and their reflections in the water increases its beauty, that place so peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that canoe, which see sailing quietly in the foreground, a stunning sky which is a great bonus to this wonderful image.

Hi Abmdsudi,
It's a very nice, and apt thought to picture sitting there, watching for the right moment to capture the clouds in this very particular setup, and patience brings its own rewards to capture a moment like this.
The cloud is almost like a spaceship as it is lit like this by the sun. aside from this, the whole scene is really pleasing, I like the small boat to he left.

Hi Abmdsudi,

You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the calm bay dyed to sunlight and fishing village where the house of much rich color is built along the bay. It's harmonized beautifully for color combination of bay, houses and the sky with clouds. And, the boat at left side draws out an additional good effect in this image.

The effect of the sun lighting that cloud is stunning. You had the patience to wait for someone steering a canoe towards the golden reflection at the right moment. Maybe you had some luck too. Perhaps that golden moment didn't last very long.

your patience has paid off very well. I like the effect it is beautiful. Very interesting contrast of dark and bright areas, everything well balanced. The cloud is so pleasantly reflected in the water surface. The boy in the boat adds a nice and cute touch.

Une magnifique photo agréable à regarder. Il doit être très intéressant de se promener sur l'eau au coucher du soleil. Il faut être patient pour prendre la photo au bon moment et avec le bateau bien placé dans la composition. La nature a peint un beau ciel pour l'occasion et les reflets du nuage jaune sont merveilleux.
