Photographer’s Note

Went to the small island off the coast of Lombok... called Gili Trawangan. Gili is Indonesian for Island and some tourists call the Gilis, the Gili Islands (island islands... funny). Anyway, there are 3 of them and Trawangan is the largest and most visited. We went to snorkle for the afternoon.

Gili Trawangan has a nice view of the 2nd highest peak in Indonesia... Ringani. Gili Trawangan is also known for crazy westerners. Even though drugs are illegal in Indonesia, you can purchase pretty much whatever you want on Trawangan and being the last day of the year, we expected quite a party...

I am always facinated by the beauty of the sea. This is something that i can print and post into my room...very relaxing. I really like the blending of the colors of the sand to the light blue, green, and indigo colors of the ocean waters.

I love the composition as it has interest for the eye right the way through from the shells on the shore through to the mountains in the background. Beautiful colours and the boat adds interest.

Nice picture. Lovely composition and colours. However, I think there is too much at the low side that could be cropped.

I spent there a week and I can remember the ARAK(palm tree wine) pretty strong

I like the inclusion of the beach and the slightly blurred surf giving it motion. The rest of it is beautifully composed as well.
