Photographer’s Note
A lonely cornseller by the Jimbaran beach. My visit to Bali took place couple of days (or weeks) before the bali bombing... I believe this man was in a way dependant on the tourist as well to earn his life.. I believe that a lot of things have changes since I took this photo. Even though it is a bit late, I feel sorry for them...
I hope that they can look towards a brighter future.
p.s.Color print, scanned, croped and converted to BW. Just reduced the brightness

I like it. It's emptiness and darkness is full of feeling. I just wish that the centre of the shot were between the man and his cart.
Cheers Bala!

I hope so too...as tourists we tend not to notice that these people are going through hard time, while we make use of the lower prices caused by the crisis in tourism industry. Your photo speaks volumes about the hardships of their lives, and I can't think of any words that might say it better.
Thanks for sharing!

Really nice composition ... good idea (... and result) to show it in black and white)... I like this picture very much and I add it to my favorites.

joli noir et blanc,j'aime beaucoup l'ambiance de solitude donné par ce cercle de lumiere dans la nuit noire.

Hi Bala - interesting and touching, I like the strange dark composition, and also the word "Lose" adds to the sombre mood.
